Sharjah is a city in the United Arab Emirates located in the Persian Gulf. Compared to its southern neighbor Dubai, Sharjah is considered a more conservative place and cultural capital of the country. The old part of Sharjah is located on the shores of the strait, where the first settlement once arose. Here you can see restored historical architecture and visit museums dedicated to the customs of the Emirates. In the historical center is the Al-Hisn Fort, which in the 19th century served as the residence of the rulers and later became a museum of local history.
