Liverpool is a port city in the north-west of England, located at the confluence of the Mersey River and the Irish Sea. From the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century, the city was the most important transit and trade center in Europe, and is now better known as the birthplace of the legendary group The Beatles. From ferries on the river, you can see Pier Head, where the Royal Liverpool Building, the Cunard Shipping Company building and the Port of Liverpool building, called the Three Graces, are located.
