Kunming is the modern capital and transport hub of the Yunnan province in southern China. The city has a large number of students who, among other things, are attracted by the mild climate. In Cuihu Park (or Green Lake), built in the 17th century, you can walk along the bridges and pavilions laid between the islands. Next to the park is the 8th-century Yunnan Buddhist Temple, which is famous for its statues and a pond with a decorative stone bridge.
