Kyoto is the former capital of Japan on the island of Honshu, famous for its numerous Buddhist temples, which are considered architectural monuments, gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and ancient wooden houses. In the city, it is worth attending a traditional kaiseki dinner with several courses and visiting the Gion district, where geishas live - women who entertain their guests with songs, dances and conversations.
