Ashdod is the sixth most populous city in Israel, located in the Southern District of the country on the Mediterranean coast, on the southern coastal plain. Ashdod is located south of Yavne, north of Ashkelon and west of Gan Yavne, thirty kilometers south of the Gush Dan metropolis.
