Annecy is a city in the Alps in southeastern France. It is located on the banks of the lake of the same name and the Tiu River and is famous for its cobbled streets, winding canals and pastel-colored houses in the historical part. A medieval castle rises above the city, which used to be the residence of the Counts of Geneva. It now houses a museum with exhibitions on Alpine furniture crafts, religious art and natural history.
