Solar Cell
This is a model of a single photovoltaic cell. The dimensions of this standard sized cell are 6 cm x 3 cm x 0.40 cm. This cell can be used to populate solar modules and arrays. The cell itself is crystalline silicone, with gold busbars, embossed on a black silicon wafer. Smaller electrical contacts (fingers) are in an array of conduits along the long axis of the cell. It has a total light collecting area of 9.335 cm^2.
This model is perfect for hobbyist mockups where flexibility is needed for building large solar arrays while using a standard sized cell.
There is a mesh version of this model now available and included in .stl format. It should be low poly by today's graphical standards, but if you render enough of them, it may turn into high poly.
