DC Rebirth is a 2016 relaunch by the American comic book publisher DC Comics of its entire line of ongoing monthly superhero comic book titles. It brought in a slew of changes to modern DC continuity. With the advent of Batgirl and the Birds of Prey, Black Canary’s costume is shown to have undergone an update as well. Her design in this comic run pushes things in a fresh direction, while simultaneously paying homage to past appearances. The fishnet-stockings return in full force and are complimented by a blue corset-like top and a black leather jacket. Canary's most recent look is a bit more casual than past costumes, but it embodies the character's brand of nonchalant confidence. The fishnets and light blue top are echoes of previous costumes with a few modern touches, including her new jacket with her namesake emblazoned on the back. The strongest thing it has going for it is it looks like something an ex-rocker superhero would wear and is a perfect melding of those two unique worlds.
