The Black Canary is the name of two superheroines appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The original version was created by the writer-artist team of Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino, the character debuted in Flash Comics #86 (August 1947). When artist Carmine Infantino first began realizing the character on the page, he went for a strong and sexy look. Without question, he nails the sentiment quite well with Black Canary’s blue and black attire. She wears in a loose-fitting one-piece paired with a cropped jacket and buccaneer boots. The theme of blue continues to both her pants and her boots, the former of which are covered in black fishnets. Black Canary’s Golden Age design is simple, yet it works. Her daughter, Dinah wore a costume similar to her mother's costume, only with a blue jacket and without the mask. The costume itself has a higher cut and the jacket is given three-quarter sleeves. She also goes back to the collar with a silver detail. The fishnets also have a tighter weave. This design is mainly based on Jose Luis Garcia Lopez´s DC Sytyle Guide from 1982.
