For the next three years, Skywalker continued to support the Rebel Alliance in their cause to defeat the Empire and restore the Galactic Republic. At the same time, he set out to further advance his Jedi training and, guided by Kenobi's spirit, eventually found Yoda, the last Grand Master of the Jedi Order. During his trials, however, Luke sensed that his friends were in danger and, ignoring Yoda's warnings, postponed his training to depart to their rescue. Skywalker managed to destroy the Empire's battle station and superweapon, the Death Star, thereby saving the Alliance to Restore the Republic from destruction.
