DESCRIPTION

Hello everyone! Meet the new character Robot Scooter Future. This is a robot-transformer who can transform his legs into his scooter! Added to our robot collection. It is designed as a delivery robot. It can be used in your advertising project, for websites and commercials. You can also use it for studies, animation in commercial and non-commercial projects.

The robot can run, walk, roll on its wheels as on roller skates and jump. It can transform on the fly with a single controller - it's both convenient and very easy! The robot itself sits as the driver and controls his scooter, while the scooter is divided into two parts and is on its feet (a la sit and go). On the back there is a movable trunk in the form of a backpack with an opening lid. The robot can turn its steering wheel, and there are hand stops for that. The wheels can be cushioned with two controllers, and you only need to lift the front of the scooter or the back. Not only the turning of the steering wheel is controlled, but also the brake levers, the mirrors are also turned and the muffler wobbles. There is automatic rotation of the wheels. Otherwise, the character moves like a normal human upright.

  1. The character is equipped with a simple and clear rig for animation in Autodesk Maya 2018.
  2. There is a manual on how to use the rig.
  3. There are two ready-made shadings for rendering: Arnold, Redshift.
  4. Presented three formats: Mb, Fbx, Obj.

Technical data:

  • Maya 2018.
  • Rigging, simple and intuitive.
  • IK to FK switching in leg and arm control.
  • Character details are combined in 6 different UVs.

Shaders use mostly 4 textures:

  • Color
  • Metalness
  • Roughness
  • Normal

Warning! Rig works only in Maya!
Remember! That only model geometry, textures and skeleton are transferred to Fbx, but the rig cannot be exported to Fbx and other programs. Transferring Fbx into Blender has its own difficulties (bad for beginners, it is recommended to study this issue first).

Low Polygon Model. Quadrangle polygons.

  • vertex: 42640
  • poligon: 41276

Quality UV mapping.
Textures with 4k and 2k resolution .jpg

There is a scene for rendering and poses:

  • Future_scooter_Bot_render.mb

Two scenes with shading:

  • FutureScooterBot_V1_0_arnold.mb
  • FutureScooterBot_V1_0_redshift.mb

Export files:

  • FutureScooterBot_V1_0.fbx
  • FutureScooterBot_V1_0.obj

    • Arnold 3.0.1.1 PBR
  • Redshift 2.5.48 PBR

Redshift renders are shown in the preview. Arnold and Redshift on the render look identical, of course Redshift renders faster!

Finally, I would like to say that the character animation is quite easy. You can quickly make any animation and render it at once. The result will be fast! Probably it is suitable for any of your projects where you need a delivery robot (eg, food delivery robot) or robot-transformer who can turn into a driver on a scooter.

Enjoy!

Also, its wheels instead of feet make it easier to create gait animation, since the animator does not have to clarify the contact with the floor surface.

Please note that the model has quite good detailing and the rigging is all worked out! The wheels have shock absorbers, which can be used when walking and driving!

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal

No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
