Tulkun from Avatar Rigged 3D Model

Tulkun from Avatar Rigged 3D Model Low-poly 3D model

Description

Photo Realistic Rigged Tulkun Model

inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water

THIS MODEL IS OUTDATED, HOWEVER IT IS STILL USEABLE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE ANIMATED, IMPROVED VERSION CHECK IT OUT ON MY PROFILE! If you wish, you can try this model out first, and then get the better version if you are satisfied with it:)

Features:

==========================================

  • Entire body (including mouth and eyes) rigged

  • Optimized, retopologized modeling

  • Fully textured and materials applied (all maps are included and packed)

  • High resolution UV texture map of 4096 x 4096.

  • FBX, OBJ, DAE, BLEND files included*

The .blend file is the most optimal format for this model, not only because of the fully set up rig (with Inverse Kinematics and easily useable custom shapes and colors), but also because the model's material setup works better in Blender overall. However, the model still performs excellently as .fbx, .obj and .dae files. Just make sure to use the correct material setup (for Blender use the 'Tullkun Material for .blend' material, and for any other software use 'Tulkun Material_baked maps' material).

*There seems to be an issue with importing .fbx and .obj files in Blender. When importing the .fbx file, make sure that you set all the materials' Blend Mode to Opaque. You can do this by going to the Shader Editor, opening one of the materials, hitting N to bring up the properties, and clicking on Options (make sure to do this in the Shader Editor, not the 3D Viewport). Here you will see under Settings the Blend Mode, which might be set at Alpha Blend. If so, change it to Opaque. That should fix the glitchy materials.

If you are importing the .obj file, and the materials look strange, make sure that all the Image Textures (except the Color maps) are set to Non-Color, instead of sRGB. Also, .obj files can not include rigs (it is an old file format, so it can only contain objects and materials). So if you want to use the rig, I would recommend the .fbx, the .dae, or if you are using Blender, the .blend files.

==========================================

This model was made with inspiration from the movie Avatar: The Way of Water. I am not associated with the creation of the movie in any way, however I thoroughly enjoyed it. This model is depicting the character Payakan, or one of the other Tulkun creatures. You are free to use it however you want.
