Laocoön and His Sons (Laocoön Group) by Agesander, Athenodoros and Polydorus, at Museo Pio-Clementino.
The statue of Laocoön and His Sons (Italian: Gruppo del Laocoonte) has been one of the most famous ancient sculptures ever since it was excavated in Rome in 1506 and placed on public display in the Vatican, where it remains. The figures are near life-size, showing the Trojan priest Laocoön and his sons Antiphantes and Thymbraeus being attacked by sea serpents. When the statue was discovered, Laocoön's right arm was missing, along with part of the hand of one child and the right arm of the other, and various sections of snake. The statue has undergone a number of restorations since it was excavated. In 1532, Giovanni Antonio Montorsoli, a pupil of Michelangelo, added his straight version of Laocoön's outstretched arm, which remained in place until modern times. In 1725–27 Agostino Cornacchini added a section to the younger son's arm, and after 1816 Antonio Canova tidied up the group. This version of the sculpture is the restored version.
On the renderings you can see the Product [LOD0] scene rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4, using Ray Tracing. Product presented as-is, no post-processing, no color-grading, no additional effects, PBR Material setup, quality render settings, Ray Tracing with neutral white light, additional lighting conditions for clear representation of the form and textures in different conditions.Model is optimised for rendering with Ray Tracing, as, in Next-Gen, Ray Tracing can be used for real-time rendering. Model works perfectly without Ray Tracing enabled, on lower level methods of rendering. Ray Tracing provides realistic lighting by simulating the physical behavior of light, representing realistic natural lighting effects, realistic soft shadows, high degree of visual realism.Part of the collection, for your Virtual museum, or any visual presentation.
