Dai is the main protagonist of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai and its animated adaptations.When the dragons, humans and Darklings started to live in disharmony, the three gods, the God of Humans, the God of Darklings and the God of Dragons, decided that they should create a being that possessed the strength of a dragon, the magical abilities of a darkling, and the heart of a man. That being was the Dragon Knight who would fight to purge the world of conflicts, and effectively serve as the world's arbiter.
