Sentai is the Japanese word for task force or, literally, fighting squadron and was also a term used for Japanese squadrons in World War II. SuperSentai refeers to a subgenre of tokusatsu which features a team of multicolored clad heroes usually (but not always) five in number. In every Super Sentai series, the protagonists are a team of people who – using wrist-worn or hand-held devices – transform into superheroes and gain superpowers – color-coded uniforms, signature weapons, sidearms, and fighting skills
