This is a basic and properly labelled (for Unity Import) armature that is proportional to a tall/feminine humanoid bone structure [Which can be resized to fit any humanoid model or Avatar]. This includes L/R labels for blender symmetry tools and a basic enough structure for automatic weight parenting. Having this armature in my asset library has saved me hours of prepping rigs, labelling bones and arming a character for Unity, VRChat and VRM model types.
Having a properly labelled and proportioned armature can help ensure that animations created for one humanoid model can be easily transferred to another with minimal adjustments. This can save time and effort in the animation process [especially with Unity Blend Trees], allowing for more efficient production of high-quality content. Furthermore, a well-designed armature can provide a solid foundation for rigging and animation, making it easier to create complex motions and movements for characters and avatars. Overall, having a versatile and well-organized armature in your asset library can greatly enhance your workflow and streamline your production process for various 3D modeling and animation projects.
This rig is:
Properly Labelled [Including L/R suffixes]
Proportional
Organized in logical parent-child relationships
Properly matches units of measurement in blender [~2m in height]
Free of excess bones
Easy to parent to a character mesh [In it's current state]
Please keep in mind that most meshes do require a fair amount of weight painting after being parented to an armature. This is especially true in the head/face and hands where bones can become crowded. I also included eyelid bones in this armature which I use for quickly arranging blend shapes and ensuring smooth blink animations in generally all use-cases.
This rig DOES NOT include a 3d model and an unarmed mesh will need to be parented to the rig to make any substantial animations.
