Thanks for checking out my project! This was one of those projects, that ended up on the shelf collecting dust for months. I had the idea more than a year ago but I wasn't sure where to go with it. But one night I pulled myself together and started prioritizing what shots needed the most work and tried to tie everything together again.I know there are so many things I could improve on the project, but I want to move on from it now and publish it as it is. I hope you enjoy it.
So even though, I did not have a clear vision for the project, in the beginning, I ended up having a finished project and a lot of learned lessons on how to structure and plan out an animated short.
The short was created using Blender, which is open source and absolutely awesome. You can get it here: https://www.blender.org/
It's rendered on Nvidia Quadro P5000 using cycles. The render time per frame was 5-6 minutes for the outdoor scenes and 1-2 minutes for the studio scenes. I think if I had been working on it intensely in my spare time, I would have been able to finish it in a couple of months. The rocks at the start of the film were created in Houdini and exported to Blender. The same is the case for most of the dust and volumetric effects in the short.
