The Puerta de Alcala is one of the five ancient royal gates that gave access to the city of Madrid (Spain)
It is currently a monumental gate that is located next to the Fuente de Cibeles and the Retiro Park. It was built by mandate of Carlos III.The design and work belongs to the Italian architect Francesco Sabatini
It is a neoclassical door with a monumental appearance similar to the Roman Triumphal Arches, it was erected facing its exterior to the east in 1778.
