A complex set of high resolution models, representing a traditional Japanese summer home in the mountains. The studio room overlooks a river or lake .
The Summer House Collection consists of two traditional-style buildings that would be located in a rural mountainous area, along with some appropriate outdoor and indoor furnishings.
The main building is a shingled house with kitchen, bedroom, utility room and a study. The house has traditional features, including an entryway, wooden engawa (flooring surrounding the house), a kutsunagi (step stone) at the main entrance, and exterior knarled wooden bench and some interior lamps. The shoji screens for the main house are moveable. The house has bronze exterior lamps and rain chains to direct summer rain away from the roof area.
The large garden shed holds a full range of traditional garden work implements. It has a full bamboo trellis on one side that sill accommodate climbing plants.
There also are a simple curved wooden bridge, a stone lantern (ishi-doro), a metal lantern and a stone basin.
As you can see, this is an extensive model set consisting of many models, each of which are very high resolution and very carefully made.
