This is a CGI 3D model of an iconic table and floor lamp — FLOS Mayday, designed in 1998 by Konstantin Grcic. Modeled in 3D Studio Max 2022 and also converted to 2019-2021 versions, as well as FBX and OBJ exchange formats. Intended for use with Corona Renderer 9 which uses CoronaPhysicalMtl, but can be easily converted to CoronaLegacyMtl or any VRay renderer version. All objects are corectly UV unwrapped. Some model parts use Subsurface Scattering for realistic plastic appearance, so keep in mind when converting to another materials or renderers. The lamp model comes in four basic colors/materials — orange plastic, white and black plastic, and aluminium. The logo on the handle side is created using displacement and corresponding displacement texture. Extract all textures to the model's root folder (all paths are stripped so the root folder will be used for maps searching). The cable is an Editable Spline with renderable radial shape, so it can be easily tuned or wired to adapt your space. The handle part has a Turbosmooth with 2 iterations enabled on render.
Flos May Day Multipurpose Industrial Utility Light can be used as interior home lighting solution or as a utility light fixture on construction sites etc. A lighting cone which can be hanged on a wall or put on the floor, becoming a floor, a table or a hanging lamp. It features a functional handle which is useful also to reel in the excess cable. MAYDAY by Flos is a technical design, functional but very elegant, which makes it a perfect lamp for every kind of modern space, either private or public.
