This fluid wood sculpture ripples across the wall with a dramatic flourish. The artist hand cuts layers of Baltic birch and wenge wood or bubinga, then meticulously stacks them together before carving and sanding the final form. The color is the natural color of the wood, and the piece has a protective clear tung oil/urethane finish. Keyhole brackets for mounting. Can be hung in any orientation.
wenge wood - A wood from tropical western African countries that is dark brown to black with a fine black veining. bubinga - A light red or violet wood with fairly evenly spaced purple stripes. Native to western Africa.
