Description

Here I offer a fully rigged and animated model of a wolf. The model invloves hair cards that add to the realism of the model. For optimisation purposes, the model looks ok without them as well but nowadays it should not be a problem. The model is relatively low-poly for today's standards. The model is only 56 000 vertices with hair cards!

Textures: Three sets of textures are included:

Wolf Fur Copper: Base Colour, Roughness, Normal, Height, AO (2k) Wolf Fur White: Base Colour, Roughness, Normal, Height, AO (2k) Jaw, Claw, Eye: Base Colour, Roughness, Normal, Height (2K) Hair shape (alpha)

Textures are included within the blend file and are packed in the archive .zip file.

3D models:

  • Lowpoly and high polu versions of the model. The high poly version can be used to generate the normal map for the low poly version. If you know basics of the 3D modelling, you can use those files to make your own version of the wolf. Both are given in .obj format.

  • Full 3D model of the wolf jaw with teeth. Each tooth is individually modelled, except Left/right side providing maximal variation. Each tooth shape is made with care for the anatomic accuracy (see images).

  • The fbx file of the wolf that can be imported to the gmae engine. Animations and rig are included in this format. There is one action involving all the animations.

  • The hair cards use two sets of uw maps: one for hair shape and the other for colour. The colour of the hair is using the same map as wolf body texture. The hair shape map is provided with the model. Please, see the whiskers are also included.

The model of the wolf, an eye and jaw are cut with seams and based on quad geometry. Teeth and claws are automatically unwrapped and remeshed with triangles.

Animation: 11 different animations are included: Walk, Turn Righ/Left, Walk Left/Right, Attack, Taking Attack Position, Idle, Die, Run, Howl. All are hand made. Please, see the YouTube link to see the animations:

Animations in the link are slowed down but the speed of the animation for the game can be controlled in the game engine.

Shapekey: Two face variations are provided: regular and angry.

No exterior libraries were used for the model, therefore the exported .obj and .fbx files should be compatible with all 3D modelling softwares.
