3D Model Sperm Whale (Physeter Macrocephalus) Adult Male Bull by POITRA Visual (Textured 3D Model). POITRA's sperm whale model measures approximately 60 feet 9 inches or 18.5 meters long from head to tail. The whale body, tongue, and each eye is a separate 3d mesh object.
The sperm whale derives it's name from the waxy substance found in it's head called spermaceti, which was formerly harvested by whalers. It is also known as a cachalot or pot whale. Sperm whales are found around the world in deep ocean waters, and are the largest of the toothed whales. It also has the largest brain of any known creature. POITRA's 3D model sperm whale featured in a Discovery Channel documentary about Herman Melville's Moby Dick.
