Description

GoldenRetriever puppy model to elevate interior images, to add that small extra cosiness for the image.

Model.zip is including .max , fbx and obj file formats. The fur is separate from the dog model, you can use the low poly version for most cases, for close-ups I would recommend the high-poly version abc file. ABC file formats should be used as proxys and inside proxy settings Force first map chanel 1 has to be ticked, for the right shading.

Feel free to reach out to me in case of any trouble.

Hey again the download is missing the .mtl file for use with the .obj file, tried multiple times getting the fbx into blender and cannot seem to figure how to create the missing material nodes for the skin, fur and fur2 material slots of the fbx file. So hoping the .obj with its missing .mtl file will just work

Hi! This asset was made for the 3ds max workflow, where there is no need for a colored texture map for the puppy, because the color of the fur is handled by the fur's material and can be customized with the provided "mask" textures.

is a .glb file format possible? or a .blend file so I can export as a .glb?

Hello there! Im not familiar with .glb file format, although you can import fbx and abc files into Blender and after that I think you will be able to export it with the desired file format.

okay importing the fbx file works BUT cant figure out how to get the textures to be properly applied. the dog loads fine but is grey and there is a material on the dog but is not connected to the texture jpgs, if I try and connect them via material nodes I can get them to show up but they are mixed up , like the black paw is on the dogs back leg and everything else is greyish white. the abc files load in and are dense all black and stringy hair looking . not sure how to get this working in blender on mac. I looked into installing a trial of 3ds max and using a glb/glft file type exporter like babylon.js but it only runs on windows. I'd have to go down a path of installing a virtual machine install windows etc .glb or gltf is a format for use with libraries like Three.js for webgl in canvas on a webpage

In Blender the abc file will import the fur as splines. Under the modify->geometry->extrude you can give it thickness. The model has unwrapped UV's which should be stored in the fbx file. I dont have much experience with Blender, so I dont know what can cause this issue, maybe if you try to rotate the texture 90 or 180 degree, or mirror it, than hopefully it will solve the problem
