The Ediacara fauna is located in the Ediacara region of southern Australia and lived as a large group of multicellular invertebrates with soft bodied bodies in the pre Cambrian period, 565-543 million years ago. Including 8 families, 22 genera, and 31 species of lower invertebrates in the phyla Coelacantha, arthropods, and annelids. The 22nd International Geological Conference held in 1960 officially named this fossil group as the Ediacaran Fauna. The discovery of the Ediacaran fauna has preliminarily solved the mystery of the so-called evolutionary explosion in which a large number of invertebrate fossils suddenly appeared in the early Cambrian period.Attention: There are animations of animal groups and jellyfish plants in the scene.
