**Dino Info: **Daspletosaurus is an extinct genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous, about 77-74 million years ago in western North America. Daspletosaurus was part of the subfamily Tyrannosaurinae, being closely related to the larger and more recent Tyrannosaurus. Like most tyrannosaurids, Daspletosaurus was a large bipedal predator with jaws armed with dozens of large, pointed teeth. Daspletosaurus also had very small front legs, typical of tyrannosaurids, although they were proportionally longer than in other genera.
