Ankylosaurus was a heavily armored herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 68 to 66 million years ago. Measuring up to 10 meters (33 feet) in length and weighing up to 6 metric tons, Ankylosaurus is known for its wide, low-slung body covered in thick, bony plates and spikes, providing excellent protection from predators. One of its most distinctive features was its massive, club-like tail, which it could use as a powerful weapon to defend itself. Ankylosaurus had a beak-like mouth for stripping vegetation and lived in North America, where its fossils have been found, offering insights into the diverse herbivorous dinosaurs of its era.
