Ankylosaur 8K - fully animated

Ankylosaur 8K - fully animated Low-poly 3D model

Description

The ankylosaur is a tank dinosaur, probably bullet proof, that could break all of your bones with its powerful tail. Weighing up to 4 tons, it was probably too slow to be territorial, but it could well defend itself!

FBX, ABC and OBJ format NOTES:

The OBJ format only has the meshes and mapping coordinates - applied maps will appear in place. It has no functioning rig, or animation or deformation.

The FBX format has meshes and mapping coordinates and all skin animation, but every frame is keyed and the rig is very limited - controllers lose their use, but bones can be rotated.

The ABC (alembic) format is very much like the FBX one but it opens without errors in blender, as opposed to the animated FBX files which usually get crazy in blender. In blender, and not only, it appears to not have any bones or rig or keyframes, but the meshes are completely skin animated, as if they had bones.

Maps for obj, fbx and ABC model are inside max folder.

FINAL NOTES:

Rendered and Mapped according to Default Scanline Renderer. For even greater realism and image motion improvement another Renderer can be used.

Map Values are set in place in 3ds max, but for other softwares it may be useful to know that, in max:

Body mesh subdivision should be 1 or 2, and is enough, or it will slow down the machine.

Other value adjustments in each map will depend on each software used, but I would recommend not to exagerate.

In 3ds max, the model opens with gamma 2.2, and the normal map should be opened or imported with override 1 option and not automatic.

In the color (diffuse) map I use no material blur.

Bump and normal maps do not need very high value settings.

You can download or watch full animations.

Support is always available should you have any question or complaint.
