Zivko Edge 540 is built very near to scale, within a few inches of actual general dimensions and fully textured. It includes a fairly detailed cockpit with instrumentation and controls. The controls for the single cockpit are modeled and textured. It has animateable ailerons, elevators, rudder, propeller, and landing gear spring and roll. This model comes in multiple formats. The engine, engine mount, exhaust and other details in the nose can be seen by removing the cowling. Some of the engine can be seen through the air intakes. (see in renderings)
The Zivko Edge 540 manufactured by Zivko Aeronautics is a highly aerobatic aircraft. Capable of a 420 degree per second roll rate and a 3,700 foot per minute climb rate, it has been flown to victory on the international Unlimited aerobatics circuit several times since the mid-1990s. A tandem-seat version is sold as the Edge 540T. The Zivko Edge 540 is the most common aircraft used in the Air Race World Series – in fact all champions of the World Series have flown this aircraft.
