Ken Rand KR-2 V14

Ken Rand KR-2 V14 3D model

Description

This homebuilt experimental aircraft was designed by Ken Rand in the early 1970s. It was a further development of his successful KR-1 Experimental. This aircraft seated a pilot and passenger or copilot in side by side seating. It was powered with a VW or Porsche inline engine of between 75 and 90 hp and fixed pitch 2 blade propeller. It had a cruise speed of 120 mph and a stall speed around 40. It was one of the worlds smallest two seat airplanes ever built. It was built by homebuilders including a wooden truss and plywood fuselage, wood wing structure, composite wing skins of micro-bead foam and fiberglass epoxy resin. It was also popular and successful as was the KR-1.

This model is built near to scale, fully textured and includes animateable control surfaces. The propeller is animated. The canopy can be opened to reveal the instrument panel and seat arrangement and controls. The landing gear (main only) can be retracted into the wing in recessed bays. This model is available in several formats and several paint schemes.
