The F-16A Fighting Falcon fighter was developed in the early 1970s as a light weight air superiority fighter for the United States Air Force by then General Dynamics Aircraft (now Lockheed Martin Aircraft) to replace aircraft of the century fighters generation. Its first flight was in August of 1974 and was introduced in 1978. It remains in service with the United States Air Force and many many allies around the world.
Over the past 40 years it has become a multirole fighter able to drop dumb or smart bombs and precision guidance ordinance on a wide variety of targets hard or soft targets, and operate as fighter interceptors. These fighters have grown far beyond their initial design parameters and have been a huge war fighter for several conflicts.
Currently these aircraft are no longer in production for the USAF but a new generation of these aircraft are being manufactured for foreign allies. It promises to remain a force to help shape and reshape the battlefield and airspace in conflicts around the world. This model comes with the paint scheme and markings of the Israeli Air Defense Force.
