The MIG-23 Flogger B model here is a complete replacement for our earlier MIG-23 model from 2005. This model has been completely rebuilt from scratch using a vast area of resources recently acquired. It was built very near to scale, within a few inches of actual general dimensions and very detailed. It has a very detailed exterior, engine exhaust and after burner section as well as cockpit. It is fully textured including flight instruments and engine exhaust components. It has many animateable features including variable sweep or geometry wings, flaps, flaperons, stabilizers, rudder, wheels, landing gear and landing gear doors, missiles and rockets, opening canopy, throttle and stick, toggle switches and others. It has high quality maps and materials. This model is available in a wide range of formats.
The MIG-23M and MF models were codenamed as Flogger-B by NATO.The 'swing-wing' MiG-23 Flogger was developed in the 1960s to replace the MiG-21. It combined greater payload, range and firepower with beyond visual range intercept capability from more powerful onboard sensors. It was the first mass-produced version of the MiG-23, and the first VVS fighter to feature look-down/shoot-down capabilities. The wing was modified and featured leading-edge slats. The MiG-23 was the Soviet Air Force's top aggressor aircraft from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. By 1999 the MiG-23 had been phased out of front-line service and now equips reserve and training units only. However, MiG-23 fighters remain in widespread service with export customers.
