Gloster CXP-1001 3D model

Description

It is Gloster CXP-1001. It is an illusionary jet fighter planned by the joint development of the Chinese Nationalist Army in WW2 and the Gloucester Company of England. The landing gear is divided into an open part and a closed part. The expression in the cockpit is simple. Created with Lightwave3D. The number of polygons in 3ds is 82792. This model is not designed to be used with low polygons, such as in games. Please be careful when purchasing. This model is not designed for 3D printing. Please be careful when purchasing.

A follow up to the review I was able to get the 30-day trial of Lightwave 2020, I exported to FBX and LWO 2005 and LWO 2015 formats. I imported the the FBX file into 3DS Max R9. The polygon count now matches since it was exported as Quads not tris. Also the scale seems to be ok now (need to check). I imported both the LWO 2005 and LWO 2015 files into Deep Exploration v5.x and both were read, while the LWO file in this package could not be read. I then exported one of the LWO file into the 3ds format and I got quads with the correct polygon count. For some reason Lightwave 2020 won't export to 3ds format, get an error about triangles. Any of the imports gets a single mesh (object) that needs to be separated. I am not familiar with Lightwave and I may be making some mistakes exporting the file.

It all depends on your use, for mine the model did not meet my expectations. I imported the 3ds format file into 3DS Max R9 to be used in a flight simulator. Here's some observations - Polygon count was much higher as posted. It is reported as 82812 with the gears included. It almost looks like a TurboSmooth Modifier was used to make the model very smooth. - Model is not a 1:1 scale. In 3DS Max I use a 1 unit=1 meter scale, I ended up scaling the model down to around 3 to 4% and the model still was not 100% accurate to spec. - The gear doors are UVMapped but there is no texture mapped to it - Way too many textures and materials, which makes custom painting difficult - I tried to use some techniques to reduce the poly count but it created a lot of distortion in the model. It is a nice and smooth model but does not fit my needs Edit: After getting the FBX format file, most of the issues if not all are no longer valid. The model is now a 1:1 scale, just a couple of faces were inside out, meshes are separated not a single object, materials are properly assigned and mapped. Only the gear doors don't have a texture map applied to them but they are UVMapped. Overall a nice model, most likely it will fly in the game but because of the high poly count it won't be usable unless I created lower poly LOD's.
