The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is a military aircraft developed for the United States Navy and designed as a multi role replacement for the P-3 Orion. The P-8 conducts anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASUW), and shipping interdiction, along with an electronic signals intelligence (ELINT) role. Developed from the extended range version of the Boeing 737-800, it is capable of carrying torpedoes, depth charges, harpoon missiles, sonar buoys, and work with unmanned maritime recon aircraft.
