Description

Ultralight Gimbal Coanda Thruster - Concept.

as the name suggests, little material is needed for this concept to work, in fact the structure is quite thin all together. there are 2 main structural parts, that fit nearly hand in glove, allowing for a thin layer between them making sure the air being forced outward, is compressed downward along the inner thruster shape.

the two parts fir perfectly together, allowing air to flow in, and be compressed downwards. both shapes working together. there is also a space for a brushless dc or any other type of motor to fit into the stator. the rotor turned out quite nice as well.

the outer handles allow for motion, and the ring allows for turning. of course the model is not entirely functional at this stage, as i only intend to demonstrate how simple and light a 360 degree thruster could be.

i have added a few examples demonstrating multiple thrusters working together, if we placed them inside another larger cylinder shape. if we make 7 thrusters as one thruster, we then need a minimal of 4 cardinal directions, but i prefer 6 or 8 for stability.

the thruster is almost like an axial Jet engine, but uses the Coanda effect to bend and follow the shapes put in place. we need the air flow to be highly unidirectional and be able to give us a push. its more like a jet slit i created here.
