This model is built near to scale, includes very detailed exterior, highly detailed rotary engine, and a very detailed cockpit and very high polygon count. It is fully textured and comes with all the materials and textures. This model have many animateable features such as the propeller and rotary engine rotate together, wheels, ailerons, elevators and rudder. The controls in the cockpit can also be animated. The instrument panel is modeled and accurate for the aircraft. The model comes in 11 different formats. Note that this model includes our Gnome 80HP Rotary engine model completely incorporated so you get the extreme detail of that model too.
The Sopwith Pup was a single seat single engine fighter produced by Sopwith during WWI that was used extensively in service from 1916.
The Sopwith Pup entered service with the Royal Air Service and the Royal Naval Air Service and proved very successful until 1917. Sopwith Pups were produced with the 80 horse power Gnome Monosaupape rotary engine.
A total of 1770 Sopwith Pups were built by 4 companies during World War I and those surviving units continued to serve for some time after the war. Currently the Pups are a very prized museum piece and only home built replicas remain flying.
