DESCRIPTION

Step back in time and relive the relatively unknown period before the start of World War Two with this meticulously crafted 3D model of the Mitusibishi A5M 'Claude' fighter aircraft. Painstakingly designed in Blender and textured using Substance Painter, this model is an attempt at recreating this somewhat under-appreciated aircraft that served the Imperial Japanese Navy in the lead-up to some of the most significant moments in history. This photorealistic model has been textured such that it represents what could have been the fate of a war-weary example of this aircraft had it somehow miraculously survived the carnage of the war. While efforts have been made to ensure accuracy, the lack of abundant reference in comparison to its more famous successor (A6M Zero) resulted in many smaller details being adopted from other Japanese aircraft of the era.

Texturing details:

  • Software - Adobe Substance Painter
  • Resolution - 4096 x 4096 px
  • Type - PBR
  • Number of materials - 22
