The Beechcraft Model 17 was created with animation in mind. It has a modeled exterior and interior, along with a control for the landing gear to extend. The model is generally low poly, having less than 50,000 vertices in the entire model. It includes textures for all of the plane. The main body is unwrapped and combined so you only have to apply the texture and be done with it from there. The only portion of the plane that will need to be re-textured are the windows. The interior is also combined to make it easier to texture that as well, but if you are looking to animate the objects you can always separate them.
If you are using Maya and choose to download this version (I highly suggest it) you will also will have access to the rig I created. There are two main controllers. A main controller for the translation and rotation of the entire plane and a rotation for the propellar. The main controller also has two added attributes called turn and landing gear. To use them , just change the values of the attributes from 0 to a number. For landing gear, it goes from being up at 0 to being down at 1. For the turn, the max values of each directions are 90.
The model includes two different texture variations - the classic red and yellow colors of the staggerwing. Along with the color textures are normal maps, reflection maps, and roughness maps. I also included some surface imperfections you may wish to try with the different objects to add more realism. If you have any issues or requests for the textures please let me know and I will do my best to make the suggested changes.
