IL-96 is a Soviet and Russian passenger wide-body aircraft for medium and long-range airlines, designed by Ilyushin Design Bureau in the late 1980s. He made the first flight in 1988, produced serially in 1993 at the plant of the Voronezh joint-stock aircraft building company. IL-96 became the first Soviet long-haul wide-body aircraft. It is designed for 300-435 passengers and a flight range of 13 000 km. It uses Russian PS-90A engines.
