The DHC-8 series of aircraft are a family of twin-engine medium ranged turboprop airliners. De Havilland Canada is now operated by Bombardier and manufacturing of the aircraft. There are almost 1100 of these aircraft produced and in operation. The Dash 8 aircraft family developed from the Dash DHC-7 a short takeoff and landing airliner with good performance. The DHC-8 was built with the goal of best cruise performance. The -100 is the smallest of the DHC-8 family of aircraft. It can carry 30 passengers at 310 mph over a distance of 1020 nautical miles. The -100 series production was stopped in 2005. The Q200 and Q300 production ceased in 2009. The Q400 production continues.
