This is a handy package for medieval fantasy. It includes two torch configurations, a standing torch and a 15% angled wall torch. The base metal is a beaten silver detailed right down to the rivets. The handles are a stained wood with nice vertical grain. They give the appearance of having lit the way for centuries past. The metal strip arrangement shows off an enclosed flame to great effect, while spreading out on the top to forked edges. The vertices are grouped by 'body', 'flame', and 'holder'. This gives plenty of configuration opportunities with or without the holders, and for using your own flame animation. These models reach the uncanny valley of being quite realistic while still appearing an otherworldly creation. I love that a base is included with the angled torch, applicable for dungeon wall mountings, and a unique tripod is included with the vertical torch, applicable for surface placement like a stone balcony ledge. The vertical torch could also be embedded on top of a pole to light a path or for a castle entrance. One caveat for this set, the flame texture is compromised in the object file implementation, rendering with a mix of wood and metal instead of just flame. I expect this is because the project appears to have originally had three separate texture file sets for the body, flame, and base, instead of the current single set combining all three, and the flame texture vertices haven't been adjusted accordingly. To their credit, the model publisher responded promptly to this issue and offered to provide a replacement flame texture model. I have my own rotating flame animation I ended up using anyway which worked out quite well. Amazing work and a great value by the GetDeadEntertainment group.
