The future of energy production is fusion, but fusion is still years away to even be proven to work. Until then, we have toe use other means to gain independence from fossil fuels. On of these ways is to use solar, but normal large scale solar plants are boring and monotone.
One solution is to 'plant' solar trees like the one i modeled. Using these trees is not only more pleasant to see, it as multiple properties that make it a better option for ecology and climate as well. For example, the spacing between panels allow light and rain to reach under the installation, meaning plants can grow and flourish there. Also, because the trunk is made from local wood, it functions as a carbon storage, reducing the co2 in the air. At the and of its life cycle, components can be easily separated in raw parts and recycled.
This tree has been designed to be used in nature, but also in urban areas. The lowest solar cells are placed at a hight of 3 meters, allowing cars, cyclists and pedestrians to go underneath it. It is also high enough to allow bushes and plants to grow underneath it.
The 3d model comes with the foundation included. It is designed to be realistically constructed in the real word. The hexagonal solar cells would have to be costume made or substituted with regular cells.
model is made fully out of quads and is low poly. thanks to its high quality textures this model is applicable both for scenes that ask for details, as well as for scenes where low poly is needed.
the model is render ready, ready for subdivision and is pbr.
