this set of Japanese arrowheads consists out different types of arrows that are historical used by Japanese hunters, warriors and samurai. archery was not just used for one purpose but was used for many different things. because of this, many different types of arrow heads were developed.
for example, some specific arrows were long, slender en light. these kind of arrows do not as much damage as arrows with larger heads but are much better at piercing light armor and tough hides, making them excellent for the many wars that japan waged . its also the type of arrow where the design reduced the amount of metal needed the most. Good steel used to be expensive in Japan after all.
a other example are the forked arrows. These are designed to hunt small animals and birds. because of their shape they have a higher chance to hit their target while also doing enough damage to catch them.
These models are based on real Edo period arrowheads that have been preserved.
