Inhaler for children with asthma

Inhaler for children with asthma Free 3D print model

Description

This inhaler design is focused on toddlers with asthma - it offers a use suited for toddlers' hands- and motivates them to learn and treat their condition. I have decided to take this model down after such a long run. While an excellent learning experience, student project, and my entrance to the world of 3D printing, I am now convinced that 3D printing is not suited for health or food applications where objects are in direct contact or close proximity to nose and mouth. Thanks GrabCAD for the original contest where I submitted this and won the world prize of the 3D Printing EVENT in 2012 and won my first 3D printer. The main model 3D files are removed as of September 3, 2022. I will keep this publication for history and as a record, as many people have tried to copy or repost this without permission. The date stamp on this will help trace down the history of publication, impact, comments, likes, views, and downloads.

I am a specialist in children's asthma. I love the idea of the grippers but there's a fundamental issue with the shape of this device or that child is getting almost no medicine. Shout if you're interested in some advice.

Hello and thank you for your interested comment. I am curious about why the does would be lesser if the mouthpiece is exactly the same as existing inhalers; in other words, it's a regular inhaler with a "case". Anyways, this was a student project from 2012, an exploration. 3D printing has not caught up to medical and mass production standards in the last 11 years, so this can remain as concept.
