Optimus Prime Alive Transformer

Optimus Prime Alive Transformer 3D model

Description

Unique Photorealistic Transformer Model. Ready to use.

Complex model yet easy to use.

All objects named. Layer management.

Many, many, many, many, many, many, many labour hours.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS PRICE!

The price does not suit this model and I will very likely increase it greatly at any time. It has happened before. This can be the last time I sell it for $59.66.

Tomorrow I may change my mind.

(some preview images are bigger than 600 x 600; click to expand)

(model has good animation speed, very realistic, but watching on the website may cause it to slow)

Large diffuse, specular, bump, and reflection maps.

Transformation and inverse transformation.

Long walking and running sequence:

1 - truck turns, approaches, transforms into robot and walks; prepares for attack and shoots; 2 - Robot runs, stops running, transforms into truck and leaves).

attack preparation animation.

face animation.

Bit demanding on machine (2013 PC) because of such details, but layers allow you to hide unnecessary parts for animation or handling or even rendering.

Ready to render.

Aproved by VC Standards

Notes: When you open the file, choose adopt gamma and lut settings, if asked.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the site administrator. Thank you.

IMPORTANT FBX and ABC WARNING: The FBX files should be placed inside the max folder containing all maps. You really need to download the native max zip file. The FBX exported file has the same animation, but most of the animation controllers disappear (IKs are lost), and all the bone´s animation frames are keyed. You can, however, rotate the bones and objects. Also, the materials are not applied to objects, but you can apply them manually and the map will show up correctly because all the mapping coordinates are saved. Some controllers seem to have been converted into objects, but I think you should not delete them because they still control objects, so just make them invisible or non-renderable, or delete most of their polygons. Finally, the export created 2 wrong crazy tubes sticking out from optimus´ feet; simply delete them.

ABC format is fully animated, you only need to apply the maps to the objects; it´s easy.

Hi, would this model animated work with unity 3d? I have a powerful setup.

Hi. I really don´t know, but I have it in fbx format. It´s around 70 MB, but I see nothing missing when I import it to the main software. The only thing missing are the texture maps; I didn´t embed them on the fbx model, but you can apply the maps yourself, I think. It has all the mapping coordinates. It´s not very hard to select a section of the model and apply the matching map that come in the folder. Could you please talk to me through the message center and not here? This is only for comments and not requests... I think. Thanks.

It works in max if you have a modern machine. It is high poly. It was not made for unity or blender but I will talk to cgtrader now. Thanks for your patience.

Hi. I talked to cgtrader. (please use the message center and not this comments area). They can refund you right away, but it seems that they want to be sure that there isn´t another way... Have you tried the Obj format? It loses the animation but I read that my optimus opens ok in blender with Obj. You could have a truck pose and a robot standing pose. Would that work for you? Thanks in advance.

I downloaded the OBJ and FBX files of this, so I could use this in Blender. But both files don't import correctly. The FBX only imports a few pieces and a few bones of the armature. The OBJ imports fine, but most likely due to how you posed the armature, the front half of the truck model was not only angled in the wrong way. Is there any advice you could give me to fix the importing of the FBX or could you please update the model?

Okay. 2 more questions, then. 1. I don't know a whole lot about CGTrader, so if you updated your FBX version of this, would I have to pay for it again or could I just re-download it from my purchases tab? 2. If your Bumblebee model has the same issue, could you please check that as well?

I don´t think you have to pay it again. I believe that the downloads are available for some time...

I opened the fbx in blender and I only see the front wheel and it looks all very weird and the rig.. and no animation... Maybe fbxs don´t work in blender... I also don´t know much about blender, but I would like to know more

This is an amazing model that the creator obviously put a TON of effort into. The transformation and detail are awesome. If you are working with this in any other program other than 3DS Max, then you'll have some challenges. The FBX's don't import correctly. The ABC files are generally the best for importing into other software like Blender. I created a short Transformers fan film using this model and also the author's Bumblebee model. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPIUhNQlKO8 Here's how I used the models in Blender. 1. I imported the ABC files into Blender. 2. I replaced the materials with Octane Render universal materials using the supplied PNGs/textures, with my own tweaking to get it to look right. I used a trial version of 3DS Max so that I could look at the original and make sure I was putting the textures in the right places. 3. I used the supplied ABC animation transformations for the transformations in my fan film. 4. I'm not an animator/rigger, but I wanted to get motion captured animations. I took a frame of the ABC file when it was fully in robot form, and exported to OBJ. I then imported the OBJs into Mixamo and AccuRig and created motion capture rigs and applied motion capture animations to them. I removed some of the vertex groups from certain objects in the model in Blender to help reduce the "bendiness" of the metal skins. Overall, great models but you'll have a lot of work involved if you're going to use something other than 3DS Max.
